Obama Unveils Economic Team
New York Federal Reserve President Tim Geithner was named treasury secretary. Former Clinton treasury secretary Lawrence Summers was named director of his National Economic Council. Christina Romer was appointed chair of Obama's Council of Economic Advisers, and Melody Barnes was named director of his White House Domestic Policy Council.
