Obama Wins Minor League Bobbelection

It looks like Barack Obama will be President of the United States. The same minor league baseball promotion that predicted George W. Bush's win in 2004 has now predicted that Obama will beat John McCain in 2008.

6 cities were chosen and game attendees could choose between Obama or McCain bobble heads. Obama won 55.1% while McCain had 44.9%. Here are the full results -

• Hudson Valley, NY (Renegades): 750 (51.3%) 713 (48.7%)

• Brockton, MA (Rox): 500 (52.3%) 456 (47.7%)

• Charleston, SC (RiverDogs): 500 (58.1%) 360 (41.9%)

• St. Paul, MN (Saints): 1250 (58%) 906 (42%)

• Sioux Falls, SD (Canaries): 500 (55.2%) 405 (44.8%)

• Fort Myers, FL (Miracles): 500 (54.4%) 419 (45.6%)

• TOTALS: 4,000 ( 55.1%) 3,259 ( 44.9%)

Funny aside - Obama has a microphone and McCain doesn't.

Byah or Biden for Obama Vice President?

Evan Bayh or Joe Biden? I'll go with Joe Biden....then again...what about Wesley Clark?

Countdown has a good analysis below -

Three Bedroom Ranch

Obama's new tv ad, Three Bedroom Ranch, outlines his plan to help the middle class and grow the economy. This ad will run during Olympic coverage, keeping positive like his other Olympic ad, Hands.

"It begins with a plan, a plan to build a plan to put hardworking Americans first. Barack Obama. He will put the middle class ahead of corporate interests to grow the economy; end tax breaks for companies that ship jobs overseas; help business that create jobs here, invest in education, cut taxes for working families, and make energy independence a national priority."

Book

The Obama campaign is stepping up the offensive with their new ad Book, although it does end on a positive note giving a general idea of Obama's plan to boost the economy.

O'bama, Where Art Thou?

People - Actor, activist, and United Nations ambassador ... George Clooney wears many hats. But there's one role he doesn't have: Political consultant.

The actor is shooting down reports claiming he's been advising presidential hopeful Barack Obama.

"I have never texted or e-mailed Senator Obama. And I'll offer a million dollars to anyone who could prove otherwise, " Clooney said Tuesday in a statement released by his publicist, Stan Rosenfield. "In fact, I've only talked to the Senator once in the last year and a half. On the phone."

Mark Warner is Obama's Keynote Speaker

Please be Obama's Vice President, please....sadly, probably not.

"Mark Warner is the future of the Democratic Party, and putting him on Tuesday night with Hillary Clinton is exactly right move for Obama," said Arora, who shut down the VoteBoth.com effort two weeks ago under the assumption that Clinton would not be picked. "They highlight Senator Obama's vision and leadership qualities." More here.

Obama Speaks Out On Georgia-Russia Conflict

Despite being on a well deserved one-week Hawaii vacation, Obama met with the press today to speak out about the Russian retaliation against Georgia.

Let me be clear: we seek a future of cooperative engagement with the Russian government, and friendship with the Russian people. We want Russia to play its rightful role as a great nation - but with that role comes the responsibility to act as a force for progress in this new century, not regression to the conflicts of the past. That is why the United States and the international community must speak out strongly against this aggression, and for peace and security.

McCain Persists With Celebrity Theme

John McCain continues to take the low road by running attack ads that aim to paint Obama as a celebrity with no real leadership qualities. Fan club is the latest McCain attack ad, invoking none other than Wayne's World in a time when you would expect issues to take precedent over juvenile character assassination.

Obama Flips Celebrity Label on McCain

McCain's Celebrity ad instantly warranted a response from the Obama campaign, claiming the ad employed old style politics and low road tactics. McCain has continued his celebrity accusations, even after being mocked by Paris Hilton in her own ad. The Obama campaign has issued another response, Embrace, this time with their sleeves rolled up. Take cover, the mud slinging has only just begun.
